I kissed my girlfriend but didn't wake her this morning, with change in my pocket, ready to jump on the bus. And depressed because of it - I hate Manchester buses, and it would be guaranteed I get to work late. Unless I'd set off ridiculously early, but 7 AM is bad enough thanks. The road on our estate looked a mess: melted snow that had been frozen solid. When I got to the main road though, it had obviously been gritted and it looked fine. I hurried back, shook her awake and kicked her out of bed, demanding she moved her car so I could get past on the scooter. Well, I tried to be nice about it really. And then I set off. Leaving her to make a cup of tea and get to the stables, muhahaha.

With big gloves a decent coat and two scarves on, getting to work was surprisingly easy and traffic wasn't as bad as it usually is. I almost got cocky about it, leaning into corners and revving at the lights - but then I got to the A5103 and an extremely slippery crossing onto it. The good thing about a scooter is you can dangle both feet by the sides as you slowly set off and open the gas.. Crawling to 10, then 20 miles per hour on the dual carriageway though, I left a truck behind me for dead.
